Pro Pics from Reception! Thank you Kara
Mr. & Mrs. Chair sashes!
I really wanted these from Exclusivelywedding.com but I couldn't see paying $30 when we could make them ourselves. With a lil fabric and iron ons from Hobby Lobby they were super easily done.
'Wine' Glass lamp shades for centerpieces
You need:
Wine glass (I chose to use champagne glasses)
Vellum
Fancy scissors/Straight scissors
Glue
Candle
Salt
Anything more to decorate
How to:
1. Make sure the pattern fits your glass, alter if need
Here's the pattern http://lib.store.yahoo.net/lib/bevfabriccrafts/pattern.pdf
2. Trace pattern onto Vellum
3. Cut
I used fancy scissors for the top/bottom but straight scissors for the overlap
To add some small detail I bought a heart hole punch and made a border around the bottom of the shade
4. Glue into lamp shade shape
5. I let set overnight. I place a butter knife on each fold to hold it down
6. The salt :-) Is to be sure your candle doesn't tilt. Salt is super cheap and know one will know that's what it is.
7. Place candle in glass (I got battery candle for safety reasons)
8. Lamp shade on top
9. Enjoy!
Potentially this is what our tables will look like.
Guestbook!
This was inspired by http://www.guestbookstore.com/
We didn't have enough in our budget to purchase one of their books.
So I designed my own in Microsoft word.
They'll be placed at each setting with a pen when the guests come into the reception.
After the reception the pages will be placed in a 8x8 photo album.
Birdcage for cards
My parents found this awesome birdcage one weekend while they were out antiquing. I simply found paints that coordinate with my wedding colors and began transforming it. It's not finished yet. It def needs some touch ups and eventually I'll make a sign that says "CARDS."
